About Gopher Plumbing & Hydronic Heating Inc.
Gopher Plumbing & Hydronic Heating is a Dartmouth shop at 51 Weyburn Road in Woodlawn, and its sign carries a simple promise: digging deep and fixing leaks with 24/7 emergency service. Google shows 63 reviews at a 4.9 average, read September 24, 2026.
The website says Gopher's plumbers are Red Seal certified and fully licensed. The name points to its specialty. Hydronic heating, where hot water runs through baseboards, radiators or in-floor tubing, is common in older Halifax homes, and Gopher also converts oil-fired boilers to electric, a job many homeowners are weighing as they move off heating oil. Plumbing services cover repairs and installations, hydro jetting, drain cleaning and snaking, sewer inspections and repairs, water heaters, bathroom and kitchen renovations and new construction. Quotes are free. The website does not name the owner, but reviewers name Gavin, and the contact email is his. Warranty terms and financing are not published.
The reviews are short and consistent. Michelle Gillard got an appointment within 24 hours to replace a toilet and said Gavin arrived early, worked cleanly and gave her good advice. Michelle Rodrigues had a new vanity that did not fit her old plumbing and some failing valves, and said the crew walked her through each step and even took the old vanity away. Nick needed plumbing problems fixed quickly before listing his house for sale, and Ed praised clear communication about the work and the cost.
Gopher suits a Halifax or Dartmouth homeowner with hot water heating, or one planning an oil-to-electric boiler switch, who wants Red Seal plumbers. It suits less well someone who wants a long published review history, since 63 reviews is a modest base. Ask for the certificate of the plumber sent, get warranty terms in writing, and confirm the HRM plumbing permit.
