About Blackburn Bennett Plumbing & Heating Inc

Blackburn Bennett Plumbing & Heating is a family-owned and operated company based in Dartmouth. Unlike most of this list, it gives a post office box on Google rather than a street address, so there is no shop to visit. Google shows 239 reviews at a 4.6 average, read September 24, 2026.

The range is wide. Plumbing services include drain cleaning, repairs and installs, hot water tank replacement, tankless water heaters, backflow testing, sewer video inspection and repair, frozen pipe thawing and mechanical fixture installs. On the heating side the company services furnaces and oil burners, installs natural gas and propane systems and puts in in-floor heat, for both homes and commercial properties. The website says its gas and oil burner technicians are licensed. Blackburn Bennett offers 24/7 emergency service across Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford and Sackville, and Google lists it as open 24 hours. Warranty terms, financing and owner names are not published.

Reviewers like the scheduling. DL Howard had two toilets installed the day after calling and liked the app that shows when the plumber is on the way, and Stacie mentioned the same arrival alerts. Kevin needed a leaking main shut-off replaced and had to coordinate with city crews shutting off the water, and said Jessie planned his schedule around it and arrived on time. Another customer got a same-day appointment and said Matthew showed up two hours earlier than expected.

Blackburn Bennett suits a Halifax area homeowner whose job mixes plumbing with gas, propane or oil heating, or who needs backflow testing. It suits less well someone who wants a physical office. Ask for the Nova Scotia certificate of the plumber or gas fitter sent, get warranty terms in writing, and confirm who pulls the HRM plumbing permit.
