Our Take on Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical
Dilling's seven-decade history and genuine multi-trade range, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and generators, make it a rare one-stop option in this ranking. The missing license number online is worth chasing down directly, but the breadth of named technicians across trades is a good sign the company is as multi-skilled as it claims.

- Kimberley Tobias5.0Maynard came out to give us an estimate to replace our furnace and ac. He was extremely thorough and very pleasant to work with. Kyle and Adam came out to install, and they did a great job. It was so refreshing to work with a company that walked through what the process would be, and what to expect. The timing, text messages, phone calls and follow up were above and beyond. Keep up the good work Dilling!September 2026Google
- Kt Ritch5.09/18/26: we just had Zach Ewing out to do our checkup on electrical. He arrived on time, was very courteous and efficient. I really enjoyed chatting with him. I want to give him an extra shout out because he noticed that one of our bedrooms was missing the smoke detector. We took it down over a year ago to work on our ceiling and forgot to put it back up. Him noticing that may have saved our lives in the future. Such excellent attention to detail. Five stars for Zach. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Original Review (2025): Roderick and Daniel were great! My breaker was tripping for my stove and wouldn’t reset on a Sunday night and first thing Sunday morning, Roderick was at my house to help. I really appreciated his breakdown of what he was doing and why. He was able to not only fix the issue, but replaced the entire panel with a bigger one to accommodate my future kitchen renovation. He also replaced the outlet that the stove plugged in to as it was old and worn out. Roderick explained all of the costs and work that would be done, the timeline (which was next day service for the electric panel install), and what to expect. I really felt comfortable having Roderick in my house. He was kind and conversational, but not insincere and remained focused on the job at hand. I never felt like he was giving me the runaround, talking down to me, or wasting my time. During our conversation he mentioned the other services that Dilling offers. I told him I had some concerns about my AC unit as the air return filters were crumpling, as if they were being sucked into the duct work. Within an hour, Daniel was cleaning and inspecting the HVAC and found all sorts of problems with it. Prior to my purchase of the house a few months ago from someone who lived in it less than a year, the house had sat empty for quite a while and was neglected. I wasn’t totally surprised that there were some big problems, and I’m glad that they were brought to my attention. Since the HVAC was 10 years old, we decided to replace the entire thing. Daniel walked me through the available options and didn’t apply any sales pressure. The next day, Dilling returned to install the electrical panel and HVAC. Roderick did our panel installation and a whole crew turned up for the HVAC. Despite having a crew arrive for the HVAC, Daniel still came by to check in and see how things were going. It was apparent that he knew not only how to service HVAC, but also how to work with others, lead a team, and ensure our needs were adequately taken care of. Daniel made sure that we were education and informed on all aspects of the HVAC replacement. I appreciated that Dilling had financing options. We paid upfront for the panel, but decided to finance the HVAC so we didn’t deplete our savings. Their terms were fair and manageable for our budget. At one point, we actually had 4 or 5 Dilling trucks/vans at our house. It really felt like we had the best and brightest on the job, and like they really cared to do their best work. Despite having so many people on our property, everyone was very considerate of our home. They always wore shoe covers inside - and remembered to take them off when leaving the house so as to not track dirt in. I really can’t express how comfortable I felt having Roderick and Daniel at my house. The very first part of that comfortability was receiving a text message from Dilling with my technician’s names and their photo along with an estimated arrival time. As a woman who was home alone, it really put my mind at ease to know who to expect and when. Dilling definitely isn’t the cheapest option on paper, but honestly, you can’t buy the kind of care, concern, or customer service that the folks at Dilling offer. It’s a great company that obviously only hires great people. Sure, you can teach someone how to do plumbing or electrical or whatever, but you can’t teach character or personality. Dilling’s employees value their integrity and take pride in their work. That’s worth its weight in gold.September 2026Google

About Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical
Dilling has worked in the Charlotte area since 1955, and today it operates as a multi-trade contractor covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical work and Generac generator installation rather than heating and cooling alone. That range shows up in its reviews, where the same customers describe calling Dilling for an AC repair one season and an EV charger install or a bathroom leak the next.
The company holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, though it doesn't publish a specific HVAC license number, NATE certification, or the names of its owners on its website, so ask for current North Carolina licensing directly before hiring. Dilling answers calls 24/7 rather than limiting after-hours availability, offers financing through partner lenders, and runs a monthly maintenance program aimed at keeping repeat costs predictable.
Individual technicians get called out often in reviews: electrician Tom for a clean ceiling fan and EV charger install, HVAC and electrical tech Omar working under supervisor TJ on a same-weekend repair, Bryan for a fast bathroom leak fix, Jeffrey for HVAC maintenance, and plumber Mathew Jones repeatedly praised for patience and clear explanations. That range of named staff across three different trades supports Dilling's claim to be a real one-stop contractor rather than a plumbing company with an HVAC sideline.
Dilling's service area is unusually wide for a Charlotte-based company, reaching into Mooresville, Rock Hill, Concord, Gastonia, Monroe, Waxhaw, Kannapolis, Huntersville, Salisbury, Statesville, Matthews, Mint Hill, Hickory and Shelby, across both North Carolina and South Carolina.
The company suits a homeowner who'd rather have one contractor for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and backup power than juggle separate companies for each. It's a weaker fit if a verifiable license number or NATE certification matters to you up front, since neither is published; ask to see current credentials before signing anything, and get warranty terms in writing since the website doesn't state them.
